On the Map!

Hey, check it out - what a cool piece by NPR arts journalist CJ Janovy on Trans choirs! It aired just yesterday.

I had the pleasure of talking with CJ on the phone while she was researching the piece - though the article only spotlights two of the larger, more well-known groups, she went out of her way to speak with others as well for background material. I'm happy that NH got a mention as one of the places where such groups have sprung up. Now I finally feel like we're on the map!

Speaking of which - hey, you! Yeah, you... do YOU love to sing? Do you identify as Trans (including genderqueer, non-binary, etc., etc.)? Are you looking for a place where you can raise your voice, even if it doesn't "fit the mold"? Come join us!

Yes, you can bring a friend for support - Ally members are also welcome.

Rehearsals start again tonight at 7:00 pm in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Manchester, 669 Union Street, upstairs in the Sanctuary.

Be there or be a rectilinear orthagonal polygon! Or, um, something like that!

Back in the saddle...

We've had a few weeks' break, but rehearsals start again this Sunday May 22nd, as we begin working on new music for our special November 13th event.

Do you love to sing? (Please notice I didn't ask "Are you a good singer"!)

Do you identify somewhere under the Trans umbrella - Transgender, Genderqueer, Non-Binary, or somewhere else on the spectrum?

Do you worry that your voice won't fit in a standard ensemble where vocal range is attached to gender expectations?

Have you stopped singing because your voice is changing - or because you want it to change?

TransPosition was created as a place where all voices can fit and where Trans voices can sing out and be heard. And the more voices the better - so come join us!

You're welcome to drop in on a rehearsal and see what we're like, without making a commitment to stay.

Questions? Drop us a note - see "Contact Us" on the list to your left.

Please consider adding your voice and helping us to make NH's Trans community more visible in a positive way!

Summer

Our rehearsal schedule for Summer 2016 is now posted (see the left-hand sidebar link). If you identify as Trans and you love to sing, please consider joining us, and helping to make Trans voices heard! You don't have to be a great singer - just be willing to show up, learn and laugh with us.

Meanwhile, take a peek at this cool little video clip caught by Eric Zulaski at a recent event... thanks to Eric and to Liz Ropp for inviting us to come warm up the crowd at this local showing of Michael Moore's "Where To Invade Next" - sponsored by not one but SIX local activist organizations. What a great event! Some of our members were missing that night, but those who came did a terrific job:

We're a small but determined group, so please help us to spread the word: if you know someone who might like to sing with us, send them here or to our Facebook page!
